The Hong Kong International Airport Preschool, adjacent to Terminal 2, provides day care services for airport employees’ children while inspiring other corporations to adopt family-friendly workplace facilities. The preschool features a seven-meter high glass curtain wall, allowing children and staff to enjoy magnificent views of Lantau mountains, drawing natural light into the interior.
The design ingeniously utilises floor height and natural lighting to create maximum activity space for children. All utility equipment is concealed behind the back wall, transforming into flowing roof lines, significantly reducing spatial oppression. The roof form gradually evolves into an exquisite wooden diagrid structure, elegantly wrapping walls and ceiling, not only hiding building systems but also enhancing the gradient of soft colours in the space, creating a warm and comfortable learning and play environment.

We strive to create a healthy, non-toxic environment for young children, from selecting certified low-formaldehyde furniture to implementing fresh air circulation systems according to LEED standards of the U.S. Green Building Council. Every detail embodies our commitment to children’s health and environmental sustainability.
